@Linzy - yes, they can do a hyst during your period, not a problem.

Re: Goodbye Aunt Flow

Just at the tail end of my last period, two days before my surgery!

Although I have to say, it really kind of freaked me out, since I have endometrial cancer, and up until this one, very minimal symptoms, just some spotting between my periods. But the first month, it was just a little tiny bit of spotting, last month, went on for awhile. Now, just a week after my diagnosis, I had TONS of cramping (unusual for me) and my period was twice as long and heavy as normal. So I'm kind of worried about how fast my symptoms seem to be getting worse, but trying not to make too much of it, and just thinking how great it will be to never, ever have one like this again!!

Re: Goodbye Aunt Flow

I had blood flow for two years straight. Aunt Flow moved in in Oct of 2010, and didn't pack her bags until she was forcibly evicted by my GYN oncologist eight days ago.

If my doc had waited for a "dry" day to do my surgery, I would never have had the surgery, since there was no such thing for me.

To answer your question directly: Yes, your doc has done many TAHs during Aunt Flow's visit. He/she's used to it.

Re: Goodbye Aunt Flow

Sorry I didn't see your question before now. My doc said no problem. I will be bleeding when I go in too. But after that never again
Good luck to you.

Re: Goodbye Aunt Flow

I'm almost 5 months out, and don't miss Aunt Flo one bit!! However, shortly after recovery, I would catch myself while planning future events, figuring out if she would be there. And then I would remember that she is banished for life... and then snicker :-)
