I am afraid that my experience will be the same as Waterdancer40 and everyone will expect me to be immediately ready to spend 10-12 hours a day at work. Also, I had a LAVH with ovaries and tubes removed and my doctor has stated she doesn't think I'll need HRT. I am 49 and wonder if any of your girls have been told this? Am having night sweats and insomnia so far..... Thanks to all and take care:-)
I am 50 and my referring doctor said the same thing. My gyn/onc surgeon however said that's not necessarily true, and that I should monitor symptoms to see if HRT was needed. Well, it DEFINITELY was. I developed major night sweats within the first week post-op and was put on Vivelle Dot ....025, the lowest dose. Well that sure helped with the night sweats, but within another week or so I started experiencing serious insomnia and really bad feelings of sadness and despair. My dose was upped to .050 and that has really helped...sleeping and feeling much better, tho not like pre-surgery. I am seeing a new GYN in a week who specializes in menopause so I my have the HRT tweaked again.
For me, HRT was absolutely necessary.

Thanks so very much for the input! Sounds like Vivelle might be something to discuss with my doctor. I am having night sweats, although they are manageable at this point and insomnia, although not every night. Again, thank you ladies. I really appreciate it :-)
