It's been a long time

It has been ages since I have checked in and wanted to say hello. It's been nearly 13yrs since my hysterectomy and I can say that I am doing great and no longer have any issues related to my surgical menopause. I took HRT for awhile and gradually just did not need it. Just wanted to stop by and let those who are struggling know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: It's been a long time

Hi Becky!

Wow, Almost 13 years post op for you. That's awesome.

Thanks so much for posting and letting us know how you are doing now. It's great to hear from you! It's good to hear that you are not dealing with menopause issues. I'm still doing the low dose of HRT, and still seem to need it. I hope to be off of it soon.
Take care!!

Re: It's been a long time

Well it must be the week for it! I came on here today after years of being "gone" to answer some nagging questions. It has been 8 years since my surgery.
Very happy to see another alumni doing well!
I too have for the most part done well but have remained on BHRT. I have tried many times to stop but the symptoms come back with a vengence. It is so true that every woman is different. My younger sister had the same surgery 1 year after me and has never needed hormones? Go figure! (the younger ones get everything! LOL)
I have directed so many women to this site because it was Sooo helpful when I had my surgery. I knew nothing. Fortunately many things have changed in the world and women are much more educated on treatments available to them.
To any newbies reading this, it does get better, just keep trying and staying in tune with your bodies. I think that is key.
