Back pain at 7 weeks??

Hi,
I had a TAH on May 11, 2005. I returned to work this week. I work at a computer, and I am right handed. I think I overdid my 1st few days( staying longer, etc.)

I have had severe back pain( shoulder plate and down to hips--muscles perhaps?) on the left side only.

I wake up every morning with this pain. I have my DH rub some muscle cream on my back at night.

Any ideas? I did not experience this prior to my surgery. In fact, I did great after surgery.

I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions!

Thanks so much and have a great day!

Back pain at 7 weeks??

You are not alone. I had the same thing when I went back to work @ 6 wks. I think like all of us have laid and sat around for so long recovering from our serguries that out bones and muscles got weak. I stated feeling better after a couple of wks being back to work. Don't worry it goes away. Good Luck Flag

Back pain at 7 weeks??

Skyelady,

I went through the same situation as you and I can honestly say that I am a little over 12weeks post op and my back just stopped hurting about a week ago! I sit at a computer all day as well as you and went back to work after 4 weeks (bad idea) and worked 10+ hours a day and boy when I got home my back would kill me. I even had to take some of my left over pain meds to get me through it, so trust me it will get better!!!!!!!!!!

Take care,

Susie

Back pain at 7 weeks??

Your use of the word "severe" to describe your back pain and the fact that it's something you haven't experienced before really makes me want to suggest that you call your doctor. Just to make sure it's nothing to worry about.
