back to work at 8 weeks

had a tah july 19 2005.463 size uterus and 3 10cm fibrids. kept ovaries. had 2 c sec. 11 pound and 9 pound. but this operation really hurt. the pelvic floor and where my cervix was. iam at my job 10 years today. i am going back tomorrow. its part time 9 to 3 4 days a wk. took the time off with no pay. i am not full time so no benifits i was told. i work in a really busy supermarket and bake speciality bread from calf. each box holds 10 to 15 frozen breads and there are 35 kinds. i have to unload them from the main frezzer. i cant even vacum yet with out laying down later. i will be standing on cement floors for 6 hours each. in 8 weeks i dont even stand that long without sitting or laying down in between. well the co manger called last nite to comfirm my come back date with a attitude. she really would be great working in a womens prison. she wants me to work 5 days a week and wants to know why i cant work on sundays. i work every sat 9 to 3. oct 1 iam am officially enrollrd in their penison plan part time pay only. it will pay for gas then. iam only 44 now. also no one has called me in 8 wks. and i work with 7 of them for 10 years. we are all the same age. i looked like crap when i left. my mom died suddenly in march 2004 and i dropped 55 pounds fast. i am now 5 6 125. they all new her too. i had to go to the same hospital where she died so they knew how upset and sick i was. sorry so long just wanted to hear what you ladies would think or is it my hormones thanks for reading mary

OMG I could have written this letter..I am going back to work on Monday.it will have been 8 weeks for me too.I have not heard 1 thing from my boss.I work in a coffee shop, I do all the baking.I lift 50 lbs bags of flour and sugar daily. I have a problem with being tired alot too,I am not sure if I can do it.I work 4 days a week 5 am-noon.
I hope you get along well.I also hope you will not work to much,just tell your boss you cannot work on sundays!

thanks so much for writting back. i will let you know how things go, i am scared, otherwise i do feel 100 times better then i did before the operation thanks mary

I can totally relate to you guys! I am only 4 weeks post op but had to return to work yesterday full time as I was only able to get 4 weeks off. Granted I only had a LAVH. Yesterday was pure hell!! I felt nauseated and my lower abdomen hurt so bad with these sharp pains. I couldn't stop crying either I felt so depressed. Today I called in sick and went to the doctor again. He felt my abdomen and said everything feels normal. He had me do a urine sample and a take home stool test but otherwise it is back to work tommorow. I don't know how I am going to do this! I am on my feet all day as I work in a mailroom and it does require heavy lifting and pushing carts. There is no way to avoid it and still be able to do my job. Meanwhile I have to force myself to eat as I have no appetite. And the fatigue! Can this just be a part of the healing process? The doctor didn't seem to think I had any major problems. I am so frustrated I could scream!
