vaginal prolapse and tearing of cuff

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know something that I didn not know going into my hysterectomy. I had a hysterectomy ( davinci robotic assisted) on October 2, 2013. There was a mass in my uterus by my cervix. I found out everything was negative for cancer 2 weeks after the hysterectomy. I made an appointment for today with my regular GYN just to make sure everything is all healed inside. I had a list of questions, that noone ever addressed prior to the surger. The two big questions were: Is it possible to have the vaginal cuff prolapse at this point and Is it possible for the vaginal cuff to tear at this point. My Gyno who I trust and has been around a long time said that there will always be a chance that the cuff can tear during sex and yes, there is a chance that the cuff can prolapse and there is no time limit on that. It depends on race, age, genetics, how many kids you have had and how difficult your births were and how many other pelvic surgeries you have had. WOW, was not expecting the answer to those questions to be Yes forever, only a few months after the surgery. Just thought everyone would like to know this going into it, as I did not. Hope you all are doing ok and healing well. Thanks for being there.
Maria
