OH crap - major schedule change

okay - I left for my pre-op with a surgery date of may 29, got there and they changed it to may 22nd, THEN I saw the surgeon and they had a cancellation and changed my date to May 8th - next Tuesday - My house isn't ready!!!!!

They also are going to do a laparoscope first, and then decide whether to do a TAH or a TVH - BOS and A&P still stand.

I'm so confused and overwhelmed!! LOL - glad to get it over with

A bit concerned because the surgeon was quite cavalier about recovery, telling stairs are no problem, I can lift up to 15-20 pounds, etc. Said that over-exerting would not cause adhesions or scar tissue. Told me I could pretty much do anything I wanted to do - had a feeling that she would have sent me back to work in a week or less if I had a job. I will follow the guidelines I've read here, because I just don't put a lot of faith in VA doctors when it comes to female health

I remember having major dental work and extractions and the dentist said I could eat whatever I wanted and said I should stop at the McDonald's next door on the way home. I knew better but didn't know I should have had antibiotics and got sick. Ironically she was let go from the practice for mistakes like that! Thanks goodness for common sense and resources. I wish you well and be sure to take it easy. Try not to worry about the house. If you can call in some favors to help now would be the time.

Yes i totally agree with you to follow the guidelines in here...this site has helped me all the way through my recovery so far and ime ever so greatful to have all the wonderful ladies in here supporting me along the way...I had no idea what to expect or how to care for myself and my doc just said, dont lift anything more than 10pounds and said you may have a discharge for up to 5 weeks and that was bout it,,,everything else has been info in here as well as i have friends who have had this surgery and they shared alot with me....I pray your surgery goes very, very well...I believe everything has a reason for happening, so having your surgery at an earlier date has a big reason behind it, God only knows and He knows best...i pray peace and rest for you as you await your surgery...Okay so now get going and get your house in order, lol, just kidding...God bless..Peace be with you...

Well I guess earlier is better than later?
My doc was pretty laid back too and told me I could return to work after weekend if I wanted. Your body will let you know if your doctor is mistaken, believe me.
Good luck with everything and I hope you do well. I had the A&P repairs as well and it hasn't been near as bad as I thought it would be.
