Royal Maca

Has anyone tried Peruvian Royal Maca and seen improvements? I LOVE this supplement.

As with any medication and/or herb, please do your research carefully. Months ago I started checking into maca and found that there was insufficient evidence of its safety. I also checked with two naturopathic doctors and they advised against maca. One doctor recommended Damiana instead, the other nixed both supplements. There are hystersister who are taking or have taken maca and seem to be doing well though.

Sorry to raise a flag of caution, especially since I use natural medicine and supplements. Perhaps, as we learn more, it will turn out to be safe and helpful after all.

From what I understand, Damiana in its herbal form is used to treat low estrogen, hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms, but it is also used as a liqueur in margaritas.

I don't know about you, but I'm not thrilled about taking herbal medicine that also enchances margaritas. Call me silly.

Thanks for the info on Damiana. That Damiana is being used as a flavoring/additive in a Mexican liqueur is not surprising. There are a number of alcoholic drinks that have a herbal basis or have herbs added.
