Had pre-op appt. today

Well I just returned from my pre-op visit with my gyn. I took dh along so he would know exactly what is going on & what to expect after surgery. The Dr showed us pictures from my laprascopy that I had Nov. 30th. Wow am I mess inside! I have scar tissue, adhesions, endo & my colon is wrapped around my uterus. My uterus is enlarged & my ovary, well let's just say it does not look like an ovary. I am scheduled for a TAH on the 28th of this month. He said he would be removing everything. He did give me the option to keep my one remaining ovary, but also said that my endo could & probably would return. I do not want to go through this again, so I feel it best to be done with it now. Beings I have endo so bad I will not be able to start hormone treatments for 6 months. Maybe I will be lucky & not have to bother with it at all. The day before surgery I have to take stool softeners & give myself an enema. Boy I really look forward to that lol Other than that no special diet, just nothing to eat or drink after midnight. He said my surgery could take 1 1/2 -2 hours & he is going to make the incision where I had my c-section. Thank goodness no new scars! I started bleeding again today & this time it does not bother me to much because I know this will be the last one, yeah! At the moment I am content with the thought of having this done. I just hope I can keep this calm of mine & not start stressing the closer it gets. I am glad dh went with me & I know he is supporting me 100%, that I am very thankful for.

Hi Janet,

Sounds like you've got things all lined up and ready to go!! It was good your dh went with you. It helps for them to listen to the dr too and learn what all is going to happen.

Sending you and for your surgery and a smooth recovery. Be sure to do some fun stuff for yourself before you head to the hospital. The day before I went in we watched funny movies which helped take my mind off things.

Best wishes!!

Blessings,
Judy
