Just found out that my surgery will be tomorrow at 11:00 am and I need to arrive at the hospital at 9:00. I confirmed that there is no additional prep needed other than nothing to eat or drink after midnight.

Oh, I also found out that I will be considered an inpatient (all of my paperwork said outpatient) and the nurse said that I will probably be in at least two days. I'm guessing that the Dr. changed the vaginal hyst to an abdominal one due to the size of my fibroids. It was all news to me!

Wish me luck ladies!

Well, you and me both tomorrow...My surgery (TAH) is at 11:15 so we're pretty darn close there.

Nice of your doc to let you know, jeez. I'll be thinking of you in morphine land :-)

Peace,
Nancy

Good luck & best wishes! My TAH was 12/23 and they didn't have me walk the first day - they did the second. The worst was the anticipation - I'm feeling pretty good right now 5 days later. Have some pain upon standing but it goes away. Just remember to try to walk a bit & drinks lots of water - it will help.
You'll do FINE!!! All the best - Sherri

Good Luck. I know all will go well, and we'll be "talking" on the Post-Op boards.

My surgery is 2 weeks from today, so the countdown begins. . . .
