Last day of work

Today is my last day of work and the few coworkers that know I'm taking leave are all wishing me well. I'm trying not to get emotional. I still feel like this isn't real as if I'm dreaming. As long as I've had these fibroids I just thought they would go away after menopause and I would be fine but my body couldn't hold out another 10+ years for menopause, I guess. How did my fellow sisters do on their last day of work?

Re: Last day of work

I tried to stay extremely busy so I wouldn't think about it....it will be over before you know it and you will be on your way to healing! Best of luck!

Re: Last day of work

Last day of work was tough.... I also tried to stay busy, but was spending part of the day transferring projects to various coworkers so they could deal with things during my absence. I felt very odd when I finally left that afternoon.... knowing why I was leaving, and that I faced MAJOR surgery. Lots of and emotions running through my head. Much different than my absence for knee surgery 6 years earlier...

Today was my last day at work and my surgery is also Tuesday. Today was very easy for me. I felt a sense of relief. I know that I only have a few more days and my pain will be over; the heavy periods will be no more. I will no longer be concerned about staining furniture.

Leaving work was somewhat emotional but I glad to have this done and over with.

Good luck to you on Tuesday.

Re: Last day of work

Today was my last day, too. I spent a large part of it dealing with an error I made earlier this week.

Oh, I am sorry about the error. I bet you were a bit distracted when you made it. You had much on your mind, I am sure.

Re: Last day of work

reese42, thank you so much for the post. My last day was Friday, and I was feeling very emotional all day (almost cried a few times as people were wishing me well!). I wasn't prepared for that feeling, and it is a relief to know that I am not alone in that crazy feeling. The nice thing about the day was it really brought out how many people there care (I have a somewhat senior level in my company, so had to explain that I would be out for an extended time, because I deal with so many people), and I think that probably contributed to my crazy emotions. I am the day before you, so I look forward to feeling relief in just a few days.
