32 pills!!!!!

My surgery is Tuesday, and on Monday I have to take 32 pills!!!!! Plus clear liquid diet all day. I didn't have a 2nd opinion or a list of questions to ask doctor. I had my mind made up I wanted a total hysterectomy b/c I didn't wanna have to go back in 10 years for another surgery (this is #2.... gall bladder & right ovary removed in 2007). I'm starting to stress though about things I remember from the 2007 surgery.....catheter, waking up needing to pee & the pain.

Anybody else take this many pills?? What's the best advice you have??

Why do you have to take 32 pills? What are they for?

Also, you should call your dr with a list of questions if you have them. They work for you not the other way around and only they can answer some of your questions. Good luck and let us know what's happening. (((hugs)))

The pills are the same thing as that nasty liquid that is drank to clean you out.....not looking forward to it.....lol

The bowel preps suck regardless, but the pills will be much easier to swallow. The liquid lemon garbage was absolutely horrible. I had a hard time getting it down- I liken it to a lemon household cleaner- it even burned all the way down. Blech!
I had to take 3 pills, a bottle of mag citrate, a suppository, and an enema.
I think it was really overkill, and was sure to tell my Dr so the next day.
My bowels and rear end were sooooo angry with me by midnight that night!! And it was all still working on me the next morning in triage right before I went into surgery. UGH I dont know WHAT my body was eliminating at that point to be honest.

I dont know what type surgery you are having, and every Dr is different,,,, But my catheter went in after I was out, and was removed before I woke up. Honestly I almost wished theyd have left it in a while because when I came around I needed to pee but I was high and groggy from meds, and I had 2 IVs and pressure cuffs on my legs. Getting up and going to the restroom was a big pain in the butt, and required having 2 nurses assist me and all my equipment. I didnt like the potty audience.
Otherwise the whole experience wasnt bad at all.

I had t o do bowel prep but used Miralax and clear liquids., I bet the pills are just another form of it. It was the worst part because rest of it I was out when catheter was in. My doc kept it in overnight and then they removed it. I left hospital next day and it really wasn't too bad,.
