Sorry to hear your ovaries aren't up and running well yet. I had both of mine removed so my experience was different. I did find a good thread that would be helpful for you.

Hello hallescomet

You and I went to the castle on the same day, 06/19th, the only difference is, I had a TAH and you had RALH. But I echo you with experiencing post-menopausal syndromes while having both ovaries too! I have the air 24/7 but only 1fan directly pointing at me. We are 4 weeks and 2 days post-op today but I think my twins are starting to wake up as I have not awaken all sweaty these past 3 nights. I can also now sleep but sometimes I wake up at 5 am but then hard for me to stay asleep. Though I think I am still forgetful....

Anyway, let's see if I awake tonight sweaty.... I hope you and I feel better soon. When do you expect to return to work?

Re: WAKE UP OVARIES...4 weeks out..anyone else???

Hi Hallescomet:

So very sorry to hear of your problem hun...I just had my TAH on 7-14 and I was having hot flashes by that evening. I spoke with my DR the next morning about this as he was able to leave both of my ovaries in so I assumed that wouldn't happen. He told me that my ovaries hadn't woke up yet do to the fact that I had been given Lupron, but they would awaken in a couple of weeks once the Lupron was out of my system. I certainly hope that he was right as I am having hot flashes continuously 24 hrs a day. Thank goodness for Fans. Hope all goes well for you dear. God bless!!!!

hallescomet, take it easy on your first day back to work tomorrow. My Dr put me off for 8 weeks and my expected return day to work is on Aug 17th. I wish I had opted for 2 more add'l weeks as she had originally said.

dunkyslady said that her twins haven't awaken yet due to Lupron. I wonder if yours and mine were sleeping due to the pain meds? I completed (all gone...) my pain meds and now I realize it is easier for me to go to sleep and less sweaty nights... Hmmmm

Anyway, take things slow tomorrow.... Keep me posted once your twins start showing up again

I am at week 6 of my TAH on June 8th and my ovaries haven't woken up yet. Starting to think they never will. I have my 6 week postop checkup on Tuesday and have a whole list of questions. I, myself are due to go back to work Aug 17th, but my job is physically demanding as I work on an assembly line. I was given treatment for a bladder infection at the 3 week mark but I don't think its gone yet.
