yellow discharge 8 wks post-op

I had the DaVinci 8 weeks ago and my pinkish spotting which began at about 4 weeks post-op and has been continuous since then has now changed into a thick yellowish discharge like the kind I had the first 2 weeks after surgery. I phoned my doctor and the nurse said he wants to do an ultrasound on Tuesday and now I am scared. I feel like I'm never going to heal...what could be going on? My doctor told me from the beginning that the robotic surgery can't sew the cuff as well as the manual surgery can, and he told me that it would take about 10 weeks for the cuff to heal. But he also said when he examined me 2 weeks ago that I was fine and he cleared me for "everything BUT intercourse", so that week I did have several orgasms (thank god!) from oral stimulation and now I'm wondering if that did something. HELP! Does anyone have any info on this...all I can do till Tuesday is worry that I have either an infection or something is wrong with my cuff.

Re: yellow discharge 8 wks post-op

Try not to worry. Take it easy until your appt on Tuesday as much as possible. I found that during the recovery my discharge was always changing. To me it sounds like you're still healing inside. It doesn't sound like you're experiencing additional pain or discomfort, so I would take that as a good sign. Make sure you keep your appt on Tuesday even if the discharge stops over the weekend. Best to play it safe.

Re: yellow discharge 8 wks post-op

Thanks for responding! After reading a bunch of posts on this topic I see that it is very common, but it is also disheartening to see that some women have this discharge for months and even years later! I hope that is not the case with me, and I just want to be healed already! Thank you again for your reassurance.

Re: yellow discharge 8 wks post-op

I hear you about wanting to be better already! We have to be very patient during our recoveries. At 5 months post op I still have pain and big swelly belly. It drives me nuts but what can be done. I have to be patient...
