Very Depressing Shopping Trip UGH
My husband and I went to KOHL's last night..I needed some new comfy pants. When you are limited to elastic waist pants you just need a variety right?LOL...I want to wear jeans soo badly like all women here im sure.. STUPID me tried to find a pair of jeans while we were there..I was in a 9/10 before surgery. I thought surely a 12 would do..I couldnt even button them..Guess i will wait on the jeans :burning:

Very Depressing Shopping Trip UGH
Hello. Just wanted to let you know. It took me a long time before I could wear my regular jeans. Seems like a couple of months. Now I still get swelly belly every now and then and makes my regular jeans really tight but it is still better than before the surgery. hang in there it has not been very long since your surgery. Take care. Don't rush your recovery.

Why not try wearing elastic wasted jeans with a long top for now if you really love wearing them.I admit they're not as figure flattering, but they're quite decent & very comfy. I own a pair myself.

Isn't this whole jean thing depressing? Out of all my jeans I have one pair that is a little big in the waist so I have been wearing those when I go out and about (which isn't often). Today I talked myself into my favorite jeans just to see how miserable I would be in them. We have a 50th anniversary party Sat. night and I really want to wear these jeans. Well, I dropped the kids off at school and went to Target to get a few things I needed and I couldn't get home fast enough. To top it off I even wore my belt with them. I don't think I will be wearing these to the party sat. night! I am really getting frustrated with this swelly belly because I have been feeling so good. Before my surgery I was excercising and was getting into such good shape. Now I have this pouch under my belly button that looks like I'm 4 months pregnant.

I know what you mean about wanting to get into some "real" clothes.
I tried on my largest pair of jeans and they wouldn't zip up! I tried the trick of leaving them unzipped and using a large rubber band on the button hole and button, nope, still bugged me!
Not to be outsmarted by a bit of swelly belly I figured I would just go out and buy a pair of elastic waist jeans. Still very uncomfortable. Just when I was going to give up hope, we walked by the maternity department. OH YES I DID!!!
I tried on a pair of jeans and they are soooooooooooo comfy! I swear tho that I am not going to buy more of them, just one pair to get me thru this phase.
I just feel so much better having real clothes on other than my jammies or sweat pants!

I know what you ladies are talking about. I went back to work and it is hard to find anything decent to wear. I have been wearing my dd's low rise jeans. They are actually extreme low rise but they are comfortable enough to wear to work for about 4 hrs. I take them off when I come home.
Question sisters, Does swelly belly vary depending on surgery type? I know with an abdominal cut you would have more but with me having a LAVH i wasn't expecting that much of a swelly belly.

Heheh, I tried on a pair of my "fat" jeans one week postop, and though they buttoned, they were by no means comfortable. Not extremely tight, but I did not like how my incision felt.
I am blown away by one thing though...I have worked and worked so hard at the gym the past year to get rid of my little tummy bulge with no success.
Now after the surgery I'm noticing that my belly is actually "concave" in that area, (when it's not "swelly").
All those hours of ab work to flatten my belly and wondering WHY I still had that bulge.
Well, there ya go, I needed my huge uterus and all it's fibroid friends to go "buh-bye"!
So whenever I get a bit down about not being able to wear jeans comfortably, I think of how good my abs are gonna look once I heal and get back into the gym to tone up.
At least now I"ll get somewhere.
Target has really NICE yoga pants, for about $16, very comfortable and quite flattering, IMO (just plain, no stripe down the side). I can dress them up with a nice sweater and shoes, and look pretty sharp in them.
I plan to use them when I go back to work, til I can fit into my work slacks, they look that nice.
Have fun at the party!

Getting dressed is the worst part of my day. I have a pair of "fat" jeans also, and I can get into them fine. My problem is that the whole pubic area is numb-like--it actually feels like a pin-pricking sensation. It's such a horrible feeling. Even my underwear hurt! Anyone else??
TAH / BSO , cervix gone too
