pre-op tomarrow
I have my pre op appointment tomarrow at 9:45 with DR and 11:00 at the hospital. I am drinking alot of fluids because that seems to help the lad in drawing blood. I am trying to stay calm so my blood pressure will be normal. I have my list of questions for the DR as well as my list of questions for the anestisiologist. I am dressing comfortably because last time I had to wait at the hospital for a while even though I had an appointment. Next Wed. is the big day one week 2 days and I will be on the other side of this hill. I am happy its about to be over with but I am nervous about tomarrow because it seems like alot of you end up with a change of plans or something during pre op. I just want tomarrow to be over and all my questions to be answered and I think that will put my mind at ease. Does anyone have any suggestions of things I might need to do before going to pre op.

Bring a magazine or book with you.....something that will keep your interest. Don't sweat it.....the more you worry, the longer it will seem.
I had nothing change from the time I went for my pre-op to my surgery.

pre-op tomarrow
I have pre-op on Tuesday, surgery next Tuesday. I have no idea what kinds of questions to ask.... Basically I want this over with so I can start my new life. I heard someone mention a list of things to take to the hospital. is there also a list of questions to ask the doctor... If someone could point me in the right direction to them I would really appreciate it. Good luck to all the princess's this week and God Bless all.

These questions helped me get started. I didn't need some of them and I added a few of my own but it is a very good place to start. Hope all goes well. I have a notebook I am keeping everything in. My questions, my lists, and important info my husband will need for post op phone calls to our family members that want an update to keep the hospital phone from ringing while I am trying to rest. Hope all goes well. I would right my questions down because anytime I try to remember them when I get there and he says "so do you have any questions" I go blank and only thing of one or two. This also allows you a place to take notes on the answers so you don't forget anything that he said. click below for list of questions.

pre-op tomarrow
I tell you all something? My pre-op was totally different from what I have read in here. I seen no Dr. that day. The nurse came in and drew my blood and took my pee. Then an athelogist (nurse) came in and asked a few ?'s but before that a nurse came in and told me what was goin to happen when I got to hospital. I was in and out w/in an hour. GOOD LUCK to those that have pre-op appt. TC ............

( I like my dr. but can't stand that hospital and that is where he practices at)

pre-op tomarrow
my pre-op is on Thursday and my surgery is the following Thursday. I have to meet with my doctor and then I am required to go to a Hysterectomy Class. Has anyone gone to a class like this before? I am glad they offer that because I think it will answer any questions that I might have or have not thought of. I am excited and only 10 days to go until I am pain free.
I would also like to say Thank you to all out there. Going to this website has helped me a great deal to understand what I will be going through and to prepare myself.

My pre-op appointment was no big deal. I gave a urine sample and they drew some blood. They also hooked me up to an EKG and did a chest x-ray. That's it. I only saw a nurse and the x-ray tech - no one else. Never saw an anesthesiologist prior to the surgery which is too bad - I would've liked to have chatted with him or her.
I also talked to admitting and filled out all their paperwork. I gave them a copy of my advance directives, which they appreciated. If you have advance directives (living will, etc.) then taking a copy with you to give to the hospital might be a good idea.
Nothing changed between my pre-op appointment and my surgery.
Don't sweat it!
