Changes since TVH

I have noticed changes since my TVH that I am not particularly happy about. Everyone keeps asking how great it feels to not have periods anymore, but I keep feeling like I am not out of the woods yet.

I've had the fishy odor since my 6 week clearance. Dr. prescribed metro gel for 5 days. It seems better.

Definitely feel my libido has suffered. Used to be in the mood almost 7 days a week and now.....it's more like, "Who wants ice cream? What's on tv?"

I keep telling myself that if I just lost some weight and wait for the cold weather to break into Spring that I will feel better. And that maybe I am just a little depressed.

I have wondered how my hormones might be affected even though I still have my ovaries.

Anyone else feeling this way?

Changes since TVH

Dear Mimi
I had a TVH too and kept my ovaries. If you still have type of offensive odor down there I would call and ask your DR. I know I kept having a bladder infection following my surgery. After two different rounds of different antibiotics, an antibiotic shot, and cranberry juice and water by the gallons I finally beat the bladder issue and then the female infection set in from all the antibiotics. At my six week post op visit Dr said my stitches were still in there and not totally healed. He put me on Amino Cerv Creme to insert in there. It has a very weird odor sort of like sweat... but it's the medicine and not me.
I am having mood ups and downs and am sitting around eating a lot. I gained three pounds in two weeks and I have never done that. I'm normally always cold. If the air is on I freeze and especially in the winter I can never get warm. Today while shopping I broke out in a sweat several times. Maybe it's just something out bodies are going through.
I go back to Dr on the 18th and will ask him about it then. I know there is a blood test they can give to check your ovaries production to see if it's hormonal or not.
It wouldn't hurt to call your Dr and just let him know what all your going through. Sorry I'm not much help maybe others can offer help here.
Good luck and will be praying for you

Changes since TVH

I have had a odor since surgery reminds me of cabbage family....I am still bleeding too. When I have a BM the toilet water turns bright red.

Changes since TVH

Well, at my 6 wk post op, dr said I was doing better than most at my stage of the game. I went back to work after 2 wks. Stitches were healed, I passed one on the 6 wk anniversary. She thought the odor was a bacterial infection and prescribed the metro gel.
I am thinking about seeing my Gen. Prac. about antidepressants. I've taken them before, so I know they work. I am in such a rut. I keep wondering, as I said before, about hormones or maybe the weather.
I felt great the first 6-8 weeks post op, but now I feel like I am in a true aftermath. Just not sure if this is normal to feel this way.
