Robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy changed: now booked for UFE

I went into surgery thinking I was going to come out a new women, well the procedure could not be done due to having to much scare tissue around my organs. I was told that it took 5 to 6 hours just to clean out the scare tissue and it was to dangerous to proceed with the surgery. Now I have to have another procedure were the doctor cuts the blood flow and shrinks the fibroid . This procedure is called Fibroid embolization and is performed by an interventional radiologist. So basically I had surgery for nothing. Scheduled to see my doctor this week and will post an update.

I'm so sorry you are disappointed. Don't think that the surgery was for nothing. Scar tissue on the organs can be very painful. It may be that it will make you feel better than you thought, AND now that the scar tissue is out of the way, the door is open to a method for getting rid of the fibroids. I know you wanted it over quick, but this way may turn out better in the long run.
