4 weeks post-op. Will I ever fit back into my pants?

I am 4 weeks and 1 day post-op TAH and today I am feel really good(today). I tried to drive last week and for me that was a mistake. I am so tired of wearing sweatpants I could scream. Can anyone give me an idea about how much longer it will be until I can fit in my pants?

I know EXACTLY how you feel about the sweatpants. I was finally able to get my Regular pants back on when I was 6 weeks out. I was envious of those who were able to get in the sooner.... hang in there your turn is coming.

Wishing all a Great Day and a Better Tomorrow.

Thanks

Thanks for the encouragement. It is nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with these issues. My DH is the BEST, but something he just dosen't understand.

I know how you feel also. However, I felt sick to my stomach after surgery for about 2 weeks and didn't eat to much but much to my surprise I lost 10 lbs. Didn't even know it until I went to the Doc for a checkup. I purchased a abdominal band on my own for the swelly belly and believe me, I have it and does the band ever make a difference. Did you get one after surgery? I didn't so I bought one.

I hope you feel better soon. All this will take time I know. You will see.

Thanks

I have lost 7 lbs. since surgery. I'm sure your right when you say it just takes time. I do not have a abdominal band. Is it like the once that women wear during pregnancy?

4 weeks post-op. Will I ever fit back into my pants?

Depending on your surgery, six weeks was my celebration here!
But as night time comes, my swelly belly comes back a little bit...
there are a few pairs of pants that I'm hoping I will fit into again!

4 weeks today and NO WAY!!!

Hey sweeties! I made my 4 week mark and saw my doc today. He told me that my incision looked great and except for sex and heavy lifting, I can do pretty much what I want...but I still can't get into my jeans comfortably. I am wearing my yoga pants and my comfy clothes. I am wearing my one pc bathing suit now and the darn thing feels so good! Never mind what I look like I have been wearing DH's sweat pants and big ole tee shirts and feel so comfy. Even went pantiless for a few days and gee whiz!
Going to work tomorrow...I work at a high school as a sign language interpreter so I get to stand or sit. Hope I can last the day! Gonna try to anyway! I wore a sundress to the doc's office and have a few more in the closet...
Britches that zip can wait a while for now...

4 weeks post-op. Will I ever fit back into my pants?

I'm 4weeks and one day post op too. I have been wearing sweat suits and am getting sick of them. Today we had 80 degree temps and I was longing for something other than sweats to wear. I started driving at the end of last week. I kind of hurt by the end of the drive. I haven't ventured anywhere farther than 15 minutes from home. Any clothing stores are at least 35 minutes away over winding bumpy roads. I did get a Lands End Catalog today and they had some cute clothes that had hidden elastic waists that I may order just to get into something else besides sweats. They are on the internet too. I wish that this swelly belly would go away soon. Hope yours does too. Lainie

4 weeks post-op. Will I ever fit back into my pants?

Today is my 4 week "anniversary" (3-9-05) of my TAH/BSO and as I sit here typing, you'll never guess what I'm wearing??? Yes, Sweats and "pajama" pants have become my new attire. I put on a skirt and nylons for church this past Sunday and thought I'd die. I couldn't wait to get home and put back on my sweats. Maybe we can start a new sweatpants trend...LOL. I had to drive for the first time yesterday to take my teenage son to the Dr. I was exhausted the rest of the day. I guess we all just need to relax and realize when the Dr. says 6-8 weeks he/she actaully MEANS IT! I'm so excited never to have a period again however!

belly's that are swelly's

I thought that it was just me!!!!!!! I guess the swelly belly thing is some reason as to why none of my pants fit either. My problem weight is in my belly so I can't tell if it's my actual belly that continues to grow or it's the swelly. What's the general rule of thumb? Meaning, what can we expect and for how long?
