Thing I will NOT miss about endo and fibroids

I had a rough couple of hours last night. Between 3 and 5 am seem to be my difficult times. This hysterectomy was my choice. I could have continued with drug therapy for my endo or I could chose a TAH. After 20 years of living with endo I decided I had had enough fighting. I've had two laps to remove adhesions, scaring and endo. I've tried cyclamen, double doses of progesterone and various pain meds. That's not to mention the money spent on accupunture and naturopaths. This surgery was my last gamble at beating, or at the very least lessening, my endo pain. So as I was up feeling somewhat alone and miserable last night, I decided to shift my thinking to the positive outcomes of this choice of mine. Here is my list of what I will NOT miss about having endo, fibroids and ovarian cysts
1. Long painful clotted periods
2. Having to take meds that make me feel horrible
3. Missing out on time with my because I'm too sore to get out of bed
4. Having to explain my condition to my boss when I look perfectly healthy on the outside
5. Weight gain from hormones and lack of exercise
6. Worrying about how much sex is going to hurt.
7. Having to live my life by a ridiculous calendar - hmmm we can't schedule anything this week because my periods going to start
8. Emotional overload
9. Knowing that each month the pain will get worse
10. Spending 5 years trying to find a doctor who was willing to treat my problem with something more than drugs.

So yes I hurt, but I also know that tomorrow will be a better day. I will be stronger and I will hurt less. I did roll the dice and gamble this surgery will help, but when you've hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up!
