A Lady-in-waiting no longer!
Surgery on 04/06/05 went well, although a second surgeon had to be called in because of the severity of adhesions to the bowel. Four fibroids external to the uterus, ovary looked good but we took it out as previously agreed. Started patch yesterday but may discontinue in a few weeks based on my own history of perimenopause symptoms fading away on their own. I lost a lot of blood but am recovering well. Still on liquids, had an epidural - wonderful. Today I washed myself and put on my own PJs - tired of the high-fashion gowns supplied by castle. hee-hee
I will move to the post-op section and will submit my castle story when I am home and on my way to my new life. My love to everyone - thanks again for your tips, ideas, and support. cj

now I can eat!
Last post was from the hospital. Went home Friday afternoon and had soup and bread for supper - first food since tuesday. tasted great. Now passing gas as delicately as a princess. Resting, drinking lots of water. Walking around my personal castle as much as I can - will walk around outside briefly today and again tomorrow. Am being a good - no a great - princess. Resting whether I like it or not...fell asleep on the, um, throne. How embarassing!
My elderly dog knows I am not myself and watches himself around me, stays out from underfoot which is highly unusual. DH is wonderful and deserves high honors. This princess feels very pampered (except for the stupid war movies DH wants to watch). Thanks so much for your supportive posts. cj

Re: now I can eat!
Ok Now officially welcome home!!! Glad food tasted good, can you eat whatever you want now (uh... with a healthy dose of fiber, I'm sure!).
Hee hee about falling asleep on the throne!!! Hey, why not. A little change won't hurt.
Tell DH it's time to watch some chick flicks or whatever you like. I love old movies, TMC or AMC. Wow, maybe it will be good to be a princess for a while - eat, rest, and watch good ol' movies.
Take it easy, you sound like you're doing great.
