Hi, I am new....

I am 29 years old, and I live in Michigan. I am married and have 2 kids.

I don't even know where to begin. I am so scared right now.
I have always had menstrual problems. Mainly, not having them. My GYN dianosed me with PCOS recently.
I just had a Laparoscopy done on January 14, 2003. He talked with my Mom and told her I had adhesions and lesions, and that I would most likely need my uterus out. I had always teased my Doc about just giving me a hysterectomy. I never thought I would actually *need* one.
What scares me the most are the adhesions he has found. A friend from another site I post at directed me to www.adhesions.org. And now I am terrified! If I have a hysterectomy will it make it worse? Has anyone else here gone through this? I surely don't want to have surgery every year to get rid of the adhesions. But if that is what it takes........
I'm in so much pain right now, my tummy hurts so bad, and it is pretty bruised also. So, not only am I scared out of my mind, I am in pain to boot.
The worst part is, I have chronic back pain associated with mild scoliosis, bulging discs and degenerative disc disease. I also have a Hemifacial Spasm. I was wondering what else could go wrong, and now I know.
I am already suffering from severe depression. I've been seeing a counselor for almost a year now, and I am on anti-depressants. I am a hermit, a prisoner in my own home. I never go anywhere except to take Dd to school and to get groceries twice a month. I've been suicidal in the past, and now THIS!?
If it's not one thing it's another. What else can go wrong!? Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, and it does.......

Hi, I am new....

Hi

Welcome to HysterSisters. It sounds like you have a lot to deal with. You'll find tons of support here, plus lots of s when you need them.

You may want to check out the options board, and also search the site. To do that click on "search" at the top of the page, then enter "adhesions" or "PCOS" or whatever you would like to check out and you will get a list of threads that have dealt with the subject, listed from the newest.

Best wishes and

since you have had surgery before

I don't think I am telling you anything you aren't already aware of, but it is important to be emotionally prepared for surgery, expecially a hysterectomy that puts you in surgical menopause. It can be pretty harsh to go thru for some women. You have some time to prepare, research, make some decision so less pressure hopefully.

What I don't see in your post is what alternatives to hysterectomy your doc has recommended to treat the PCOS first. I don't have this disorder, but I know many women who do that tried anti-diabetic drugs like metroformin and saw improvement. Other friends did birth control pills and got some help.

I just wanted to offer this link to you so you can research alternatives for the PCOS and inform yourself off all the options available. https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...threadid=76075

And welcome to the boards. Peer support is so important! Just knowing I wasn't alone in so many ways has made this journey so much easier.
