Scaraway silicone gel

Is or has anyone used the silicone gel or adhesive pads to treat the scars after surgery? Does it work at making the scar invisible, faded, and/or soft/normal skin condition? How long does it take?

Re: Scaraway silicone gel

I have used the silicone sheets with great success. For me it is better than the creams. I even get keloids and it works on making those less red. I had a huge scar, nearly 7 inches on my back after lumbar surgery. It was red and ugly. The silicone sheets made it flatter and most of it went from red, to pink, to almost clear. Same goes for my hysterectomy incisions. It is a little expensive, but it is also reusable. It definitely works best for me, though others say they prefer some of the creams.

I kept using it until the color stopped fading noticeably, so for a month and a half or more. Also, as soon as your doctor says it's ok, you should start because the sooner you start, the better results you get.
