Re: If you had a hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
Hello, I kept both of my ovaries, so I don't take estrogen. But, some days I feel just like you...I crash. I don't quit understand it, but I guess it's normal. I'm taking a Super B-Complex vitamin to help with my energy level. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. I hope you feel better and better as each day comes!

You mention a fine point! Vitamins! I take a multi, B complex, fish oil (keeps my triglycerides down LOW) and calcium with D. Nutrition and exercise (at your level) are important!

I take Total Female. It has estrogen in it from food sources. My doctor knows what I'm taking. It's best to always check with your doctor first to make sure supplements won't have any bad reactions with other stuff you may be taking.

Re: Vitamins for estrogen?
There are no vitamins that will give you Estrogen. However; there are some vitamins that are necessary for our overall health once we are in menopause. I take Calcium, Magnesium, B12, B6,B Multi, Evening Primrose Oil, Fish Oil, Silymarin, and ..... You can read more about hormones and supplements in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com

Re: Vitamins for estrogen?
The vitamins mentioned by our other sisters are great choices. Also, you could take soy supplements if you would like to add a phytoestrogen to your daily routine. You are very early on so you are still on the roller coaster of recovery. Best wishes to you.

Re: If you had a hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
I still unfortunately have good days and crashes also and I am about 5 yrs post op. I also ket ovaries but mine quit working about 2 1/2 -3 yrs after the hyst. I'm even taking bioidentical estrogen and it helps a little, my thyroid was checked about 2 yrs ago when I felt my worst and it was normal. I think its adrenal. since the uterus is gone and for some of us ovaries, the adrenals can't keep up adequately in producing hormones plus helping us to have energy. I hope this will get better in time. if I do alot of cleaning or some type of work then go do more stuff in the evening, I'm moody, tired, and pooped, wanting to nap all the next day. It's soooo frustrating, is it not? I feel like I'm old already.
