Hi....I'm scheduled for a Exploratory Laporotomy - TAH-BSO with possible Omenectomy & Lymphnode BX. I have a 5cm cyst on my left ovary and a 2 cm cyst on my right ovary, so that means all will go! The Dr. believes it's Endo, but the CA-125 came back slightly elevated so they will be testing while I'm open & then test further if need be. I'm not sure if I'm more scared of the surgery & recovery or the results. My mother will be coming in the Sunday before from Alabama & stay for a week & my husband has been great about all this (he's the one that found this site for me)....so I know I will be well taken care of once the surgery is done (my 16 year old daughter will be anxious to help mom too!)....I'm just a whimp and worried about the pain level.....and hoping not to be out of commission for too long......I will be digging through the info. on this site now that I've found it, but would appreciate any input from anyone that's had the 'possible' part of my procedure....Thanks!

Another addition to the Feb 5 group! Welcome, I am also Feb 5, I haven't had, and am not expecting to have the "possible" part of the procedure that you are. If you go to the top of the screen, to the purple buttons and click on search, then type in the words you are looking for it will bring up previous posts that may help.

Good luck.

Dear Marbles,

I, too, am part of the growing group scheduled for 2/5/02. I don't have all the same concerns as you but I wanted you to know that I'll be thinking of you and all the rest of our "group" that morning. Somehow, knowing that there are so many others with the courage to face the unknowns, I find a bit more courage myself so I'm grateful to you for posting and sharing about yourself with us.

I was 16 when my mother had her hysterectomy and, while I didn't understand all the ins and outs, I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to assist her when she returned home. I can well imagine that your daughter will be just as eager to help out based on what you've said.

Warmest wishes for a successful day on 2/5, good news, and a speedy recovery.

Helen

Thanks to both of you, and I will be thinking of you on the 5th as well.....mlweeman, I will check the search to see what I find, I appreciate the hint....I hadn't thought of that....I hear from others that we will feel so much better when we are out of surgery and have had some time to recouperate, I sure hope they are right, as I just told my husband, I am tired of being tired! Good luck to everyone that has this upcoming trip planned!
