Re: hysterectomy and hypothyroidism link?

My last test showed my TSH at 0. My OB freaked out but my PCP said as long as my T4 was in the normal range this is okay - since I'm on medication. You need to find a doctor who will listen to your SYMPTOMS and not just go by the numbers. I was borderline for years, doctors kept telling me my numbers were 'normal' - this doctor said they were at the bottom range of normal and put me on medication. I felt better within a week.

Re: hysterectomy and hypothyroidism link?

Thanks InlineSk8er

I know that I am pretty close to the high normal/borderline stage. I guess I will wait and see what the next test results are in 4-6 months. I will remember what you said though that it is important to find someone that treats the symptoms and not the number on the blood test. I am encouraged by the women (like you) that do say that they feel better once on the medication. Thank you!
