Re: Uterus attached to abdominal wall

I had it removed completely on Oct of 2010....I was told I may scar up again...but the weight on the utrus was big, by the time they took it out I was the size of 14 weeks pregancy and I was not pregant...I now have no more pain, my tummy is small again and no more bad cramps, or periods...I was not going to have any more children, so this was all a plus...it was growing bigger and bigger with scar...

Re: Uterus attached to abdominal wall

Yes I have no plans for more children either. I was totally fine with a hysterectomy, now the more I read the more afraid I get. My cervix is also coming out...I am worried about intercourse, I am worried about things "falling", I wonder if things will reattach... But I also have discharge the two weeks aftery period from my ablation, when I went on birth control pills for my endo I bled for 6 weeks. I think the right decision is removing it but I have some concerns to bring up now that I have researched things

I had a hernia repair today, lapro as well. I was told the exact same thing. I haven't spoke to anyone yet other than the general surgeon that found it. He wants to calle tomorrow to tell me more and he told me to make sure my husband is there for the call as well. I'm a little freaked out right now! Can you share with me what you were told about your condition and what are the risks?

In my research I found that adhesion can happen on their own from excessive exercise, mostly agrees I've situps. But that type generally go away on their own. The more serious type are caused from scar tissue and past inflammation, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, even from your organs being handled during sugery. Can be and usually is, from an incident several years before.

Re: Uterus attached to abdominal wall

I also had fibroids and cysts. and endo. I new I had fibroids back in the late 1990's. Doctor told me if it don't hurt you, she want bother them. Well 2009 they started hurting. The doctor told me if I was pregnant I would be 5 months. wow

I tried alternative measures, UFE and Lurpon.

I made up my own mine Dec. 3, 2015 when to do a hysterectomy. The doctor told me I could had another UFE since I was in pre-menopause phase of my life. I just said no I will take the surgery. (Dec. 16. 2015)

It is up to 'YOU' and your needs.

Talk to your doctor more.

If you're still out there, how do you feel now several years later?

Only to find I am now 14 weeks-not understanding what these weeks are...I am the size of 14 weeks pregancy...the uterus is growing bigger...
My doctor wants to try Lap first and goes threw the bellybutton, only to find the scaring is to think...So, c-section it is..she informed me that going in the scar looks as if someone spilled cement into me for the one c-section I had in my life and it looks as though I had 3 or 4 c=sections...My uterus was twisted and attached to the bladder wall and my bladder was twisted in the scaring...It took her 5 hours for what was to be a 3 hour surgery...I had the cervixe removed and left the overies...
Right away I notice a differance in going to the bathroom...I could now yearate like I used to by about a cup and not a quarter cup...I was no longer feeling sick...and most of my pain is gone...My doctor told me I would be swollen for about 3 or 4 months and until then have some pain...
The doctor relined my bladder and the wall with some sort of lining to heal...
Many people ask me how I lost so much weight...I did not loose weight...just a oversized uterus...
I had stress cells from the pain, I had adenomyosis, and fiboids...the surgery was well worth it...I was done having children anyway...
I hope this helps all who read it.

I can't tell you a full recovery yet since I am only in day 5, but I can tell you that the pain I was having is COMPLETELY gone. Just a little residue pain from where he had to cut it loose. So for me it was the right choice but I had tried other options as well. I did a lot of research before I went any furthur and talked with me DR a lot.

Uterus attached to abdominal wall (Dec 2000)

Thank you so much for sharing your story, how do you feel now several years later? These are the types of stories I'm interested in because I too have awful adhesions from three C-sections and uterus is stuck to the wall and Blatter . I am otherwise very healthy but feel that having my uterus removed could help with mild tenderness and painful intercourse

I know before my surgery when I exercised I would always wet myself. Maybe this will fix my problem since my bladder was attached where it shouldn't of been. Time will tell. Good luck.
