Well hello ladies, I am 11 days after sugery. I had surgery May 11, I had to be at the hospital at 8:00 a.m., I went into surgery around 9:30. My DH and mother were there waiting on me. I remember coming to in the recovery room and asking when I could see my husband. Then I was in my room, the room was very nice. All of the nurses were nice too, execpt for one little misunderstanding we had. I am a smoker, about 4 hours after surgery I wanted to go outside and smoke. Well, they were not going to let me. I told them to get on the phone and call my doc. I got to go smoke! He told them if I was feeling well enough to get out of bed and do it, let her do it. He did tell me on Friday when he came to see me that if I continue to smoke it will take longer for my body to heal. The food at the hospital was horrible, they had me on a clear liquid diet. I am not a big fan of jello, I did like the popcicles though. I was released from the hospital at noon on Friday. My DH took me to the movie store and we rented 8 movies. He stayed home with me for 5 days, then the rest of the time my mother and good friends have been checking on me everyday. Wow, last Wednesday night I think I gave birth to a 12 pound something. It hurt so bad, I had huge tears running down my face. I have been trying hard to make sure that my diet is full of veggies and whole grains, so that I do not have that problem again with my bowels. The rest of the week I felt pretty good, however I cried alot. My DH kept asking me what was wrong and all I could say was "I don't know". Over the weekend, I felt well enough to go to dinner with my mom and dad. I went out side alittle on Saturday, then yesterday Itook a walk with DH and DD. Then my DH was working in our flower beds, I was sitting in a lawn chair handing him things, getting water in the water jug to water the flowers, I only filled it half full. I went to put my pj's on last night, I went to use the restroom and I was bleeding. I had bleeding the day after surgery and the rest of the time I have just had some discharge. Well this was not discharge, I called the on-call doctor. He told me to dit down and elevate my feet and to come into the office in the a.m. There is just alittle this morning, nothing like last night. So that is my story for now. I have been in contact with another lady that is from San Diego, she had her surgery the same day. She is doing well she said. I will keep everyone updated.

Glad to hear you're home and doing well. The body will let you know you're doing too much--take it easy. At 8 weeks I still have problems with lifting due to a pulled ligament at 4 weeks. Good Luck and

Hi Sadiemae78
Thanks for checking in. I'm glad everything went well for you. It isn't unusual to have some bleeding, but ashrn said it can be your body telling you you did too much. Be careful of bending. It can disturb healing tissue and could have caused new bleeding if you were bending at the waist or stooping while helping dh in the garden.
I'm not sure if you kept your ovaries or not,but the emotions sound pretty normal right now too. It can take some time for your ovaries to kick in and function at full speed. They lose their main blood supply and sometimes go into shock for a time.
I hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted.

Hi Sadiemae78 -

I also had my hysterectomy (uterus only removed) on May 11th. I am doing pretty good, though I have not had any bleeding. I am not on pain medications and actually I feel pretty good. I am looking forward to getting out of this house, on Thursday, get to go driving.

I sure hope that you get to feeling a lot better and soon and I will keep you in my thoughts Hope that it was nothing too serious at the doctors...
