2 Week Check-up Nov. 15th

My 2 week check point is this Fri 15th Nov. My belly is still warm, tingling, and itchy. The ice packs and heating pad have become my best friends....lol I can feel the muscles on each side of the incision(hard). Having a BM, is so very painful if you are not medicated. Sitting down takes some extra effort too, it feels like an emptiness. I didn't realize, that your stomach muscles played such a major part. I still have gas, regardless of whatever I eat. I have good days when I can walk around in the house and days I just can't cope. My body definitely lets me know when I have exceeded the limit. I need to ask my doctor about the numbness, can't scratch too hard because it burns. The hospital did not provide me with a binder, I purchased one from Walgreens. The binder helps alot when walking. One strip of the bandage has fallen off, all the others are hanging tight. The Doctor said the Fibroid was 3 pounds, which she equated to as 20 week fetus. She asked me how was i walking around with that for 12 years? I told her i just don't like being sick and having to depend on others to take care of me. She told me the S was for my maiden name (Simpson), not Superwoman. My right side is more tender then the left side. I had ALL of it taken out, so I guess I will be taken some kind of pill or patch. But as I said I am ok with the decision, I am So over a menstrual cycle.........good bye pads, lol.

Re: 2 Week Check-up Nov. 15th

My two-week check was yesterday. She asked if each day was a little better... I replied "it's more like steps forward and then one back". She asked then if I was trying to do too much and my reply was probably. She was glad I was still passing gas. She forcefully reminded me that I need to take it easy and let others shoulder the burden for at least 4 more weeks! Not easy for me to do.

Hang in there, sister! There are better days ahead.

Thank you, it's hard to depend on others.

Re: 2 Week Check-up Nov. 15th

I'm coming up to 2 weeks post op on Friday. Had been feeling so good, and yes probably doing too much, but totally hit a wall today and felt pain after a short walk - so fatigued the rest of the day. I think I read somewhere that about the 12th day, the scars begin to change to more permanent state and that the internal stitches begin to dissolve and let go and that causes new kinds of pain. Does that make sense? Was expecting a laparoscopic hysterectomy but had to have an incision to stop the bleeding, so this has been more than I bargained for. Still thankful to have it behind me and the pressure of fibroids gone! Hope you both feel better every day!

Slow motion is all I can, but yes fibroids are history.
