Got my date.

Went in for my pre-surgical pap smear, and came out with a surgery date.
Hubby isn't looking forward to it, says it's to close and we are not financially ready for it. (I don't think we will ever be financially ready for it.)

any who, now comes the planning and preparing. I have six weeks to prepare...

I'm having a vaginal hysterectomy with cystocele and rectocele repairs.
Still not sure I'm going to be able to sit after the 6 weeks are up....

Re: Got my date.

Hi, did your doctor tell you how he will be repairing you?
I hope you will go with repairs with your own tissues.
Please research and educate yourself about mesh. polypropylene . It is not inert and not Gold standard.
I would give anything if I had researched and been told this prior to my repairs.

I know that 6 weeks sounds like a long time and you are ready to be on the other side and recovering. . . . the time will pass quickly. It will give you time to get your house in order and do those things that you won't be doing for a bit. Cooking meals ahead and freezing them will be a big help also.

My surgery was a dvTH/BSO with rectocele and enterocoele repairs. I did find it hard to sit for a while but there are things that many have found helpful during recovery: non-alcoholic wipes (more soothing than tissue), with hazel spray to use after each trip to the bathroom, sitz baths with the ok from your doctor, and ice packs. I soaked pads and froze them . . . they were just the right size and helped with the swelling. Be sure to follow your post op restrictions . . . that will help promote faster healing.

dear. Remember that we are here for you . . . please keep us posted.

I got my date about a week ago. 9/7! I feel like it can't get here soon enough! Lol I'm so ready to be recovering.

I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
