Almost 6 weeks post hysterectomy: hard abdomen across bellybutton

I had LAVH on May 4th. I'm healing nicely except I notice that from my abdominal area is really hard. I've read of the "swelly belly", but this isn't really my belly. It's a "band" of hardness that goes across my belly button (about 3-4 inches to each side) and then *above* my belly button about 2-3 inches. And it's lumpy around the belly button. It's not red. It's not really painful other than an occasional very mild pressure like feeling. I'm going to the bathroom just fine. Is this swelly belly? or just scar tissue underneath my skin? I don't know exactly where the doctor cuts once he goes under the skin. Thanks for any input.

To better describe the feeling, imagine placing a football across your abdomen so it is at and above your belly button. It's a big bulge there. Below my belly button is squishy and flabby.

I get swelling and hardness pelvic area to ribs. It fluctuates and is dependent on daily activity.
