ARGHH..lingering pain 5 wks-surgical or bladder

5 wks out and one day I feel great, and the next not so good. It seems like if I feel good and I am active, the next day is when it hurts. I sat around all day yesterday-(but was out all day at a work mtg on Sat-standing and sitting) then about 3:00 yesterday--my pelvic area just started aching with little twinges that lasted until 11:00pm or so.

Which got me to wondering--is this surgical area pain or bladder pain? Can my bladder be too dry--is there such a thing? I am not a big drinker-never have been. (I am trying to keep up on that) To further complicate, I have gastritis so if I take ibuprofen, my stomach hurts.

I finally got bold and (nervously) called the dr and requested a 6 wk followup-TLAVH. (my only vag exam was at 1 wk, and a verbal office checkup at 3 wks) It just seemed weird to call them up and have the office fax me a note to go to work at 6 wks when it was not a knowledge based decision. (unethical?) I am not holding my breath for an exam or anything, but at least I can ask him about my pains, insomnia, and menopausal issues.

Thank goodness for this site, it's a great place for info.

That was exactly how I felt from weeks 4-about -12 when I finally got another opinion. I didn't have an exam until week 2 to make sure things were good after picking up my 5 year old. An then again at 10 weeks for a lidocain shot. I'd say take it easy as possible and if it gets to bad to call an try and get in asap. I hope your feeling better by now!

5 weeks here too. I feel the same way--if I do too much (shower, load the dish washer, throw in a load of clothes, drive my son to school, light house work), I get very sore. Sitting also makes me feel sore, and cramp up. I'm most comfortable lying down. Hoping I really improve this week. Meeting doc next week for 6 week check up. Have really been looking to the 6 week mark for complete healing. However, I'm having a feeling that I'm not going to be fully healed in a weeks time, and will be experiencing disappointment.
Hope you get some help for your menopausal symptoms.
