gotta finish up hrt prior to op

I went to see my GP yesterday to ask her when should I finish the hrt and she said as soon as I've completed the second colour tablets left in the packet as the third colour ones are only placebo's. This only gives me 12 days left of being flush/sweat free and calm. Have forewarned hubby and sons to batten down the hatches cos its gonna be a bumpy road 'til the 17th feb. so not only have the upcoming op to stress about but will be back to mood swings, pain and insanity! as well as the flushes/sweats. had thought about giving up smoking too, but that will have to wait now, can't cope without the hrt and no smokes. Next it'll be give up drinking tea.

is there anything herbal I could use 'til I get to the castle?

gotta finish up hrt prior to op

Hi Carol!

Sounds like you may be bracing yourself for a rough ride! Sorry, I'm not experienced with the different herbal remedies that may help, but it might be a good idea to check with the DR to see if s/he has any ideas; they also tend to get very picky when it comes to herbals and any other medications before surgery, since some can have effects on blood flow during surgery.

I hope you don't have to face those yucky symptoms after all, as if just the thought of having surgery isn't quite enough on the emotions, eh?

Take care, sweetie -- check with the doc before taking anything else -- hang in there; you are not alone!

gotta finish up hrt prior to op

I popped in to see local pharmacist, as I know him, asked why I have to finish the Tridestra and was there something herbal perhaps I could use, he said there is absolutely nothing I can take to ease the last few weeks, herbal or otherwise. He said just be brave cos there is a reason why the doc wants it out of my system before the op, only trouble is what reason? it took so long to find the right hrt now I've got to go without it for a while. still thinking positively, once the op is over with that'll be one less thing to stress about. no more monthly's, no more pain, no more being laid up for a week, no more feeling my insides are going to fall out.
