a small revelation w/a quiet yippie!

Hi Ladies...
I hope this doesent sound to silly...
Something I discovered that only my Hyster-sisters might appreciate...
My DH & I went out to eat the other night at a small neighberhood restaurant that we have begun to frequent. Just started going there since my surgery.
When we were ready to leave, I told DH I needed a minute to use the restroom. Upon entering the facilities it suddenly dawned on me that I had never been in this restroom before! Now that is important to me because pre-surgery I was on very intimate terms w/every restroom in town!! Whenever we went out to eat I would spend 3/4 of the visit in the restroom...going through things only most hyster-sisters know about.
I have gone to this post-surgery restaurant at least four times; and this was the only time I had visited the bathroom facility!!
It is these little victories I can find in my new life that make me realize how out of control things were before!

Yes, I can relate to appreciating things like this that others (esp. men!!) couldn't possibly understand!! For example, over the July 4th holiday, I went to an art show exhibit that I go to every year--it's outside, in the heat--- and this year, as I was using the bathroom there, I was thinking about how wonderful it was not to have to worry about "making it to the bathroom in time" or carrying around "feminine hygiene products" all the time and just feeling all blah, :burning: and "dirty"!!! What a joy it is to plan things and not have to check the calender!!! Isn't it grand that we can appreciate these times?!?! Best to you!!! zanylynn
