Suggestion for gas & bm problems after hysterectomy

I had been researching online the "squatty potty", amongst other versions on the same theme, for quite a while pre-op. The explanation of how the rectum is aligned made sense to me but I didn't get around to trying out the idea before my op. I remembered it when the dreaded gas pains and bm problems kicked in. I tried using a wicker box 9" high x 11" x 15" to support my feet and it works, for me anyway. A nice box doesn't look odd and can be used to store loo rolls. The pains are still there but the release is quicker and no pushing is necessary. Good luck if you give it a try.
