Enlarged uterus

Hi everyone ... Today I went for my two week post op appointment and my surgeon told me that I definitely endometriosis but he also mentioned that usually the uterus is 60 grams but mine was 105! Thankfully there was no cancer but I don't understand how it got so big? What exactly does it mean to have an enlarged uterus?

Mine was also way too big (1,248 grams though) and in my case, it had just turned into a giant fibroid. A fibroid is a benign thing -- strictly speaking, it's a tumor, but it's one that just sits in one place and grows as opposed to a malignant tumor (what we think of as actual cancer), which can wander off and cause trouble in unpredictable places.

Hi! Besides irregular bleeding (twice a month) I had mine removed because it was enlarged. It was full of fibroids which caused a lot of pain and the excess bleeding. I don't know how many fibroids I had or how many grams it was but I was told it was enlarged to about 9-12weeks pregnant size. It was able to fit through my vagina for removal so I imagine it wasn't too big.

Mine measured at 1300 grams due to enormous fibroids (and I took medication for three months to shrink them prior to surgery). It may be possible the endom may have enlarged it. It sounds like you are doing well. Take care!
