4 weeks post-op. I've survived !!
Hi to all Hystersisters,
Well I've made it to the 4 weeks post op stage.
The pain of that first walk has nearly faded, and I can bend a little now to. So things are looking up.
I'm trying to do a little housework each day but I still rely heavily on my teenage boys to help me out with shoping and laundry etc anything that involves lifting really. No real pain to speak of - just a little tenderness at times.
I have found that I keep falling asleep in the afternoon nearly every day, but I suppose a little snooze wont do me any harm. My body must need the rest.
My appetite is back now and I'm finding that I'm starting to snack on choc and ice lollies. So I will have to keep an eye on my weight.
I often look on this web site for usefull hints and tips etc so thanks to all those who post on here.
Hope to 'hear' from you all again at the 6 week anniversary.

How's everyone at 4 weeks?
Hi!
I'm at 4 weeks also, trying to do more but still get painful (mainly my back) if I do too much--which really isn't much compared to my "normal" lifestyle!! Even just going out for an hour or so or taking a VERY short walk outside, sitting here at the computer, cooking dinner etc... tires me!! Mentally I want to do more, but guess my body just isn't ready yet. I'm very tired.... but realize I AM on the mend!!! An answer to 4reality-- I have never seen any stitches either-- not really sure what to look for, but I haven't seen anything 'weird' passing in my urine-- So I guess that's fine!! Take care all! zanylynn

How's everyone at 4 weeks?
I really feel like I ve turned a corner but still get some pain. Energy level seem compatable with my abilities but i do take it slow. It is nearly lunch time by the time i've got up breakfasted, bathed and dressed. I feel more uncomfortable as the day goes on no matter if i've rested or pushed. I usually go to bed because I'm uncomfortable not tired. I've not seen my stiches or had any bleeding since leaving the castle. My nurse told me it happened on day 11. So does that mean it will not happen now or should I still be waiting?

How's everyone at 4 weeks?
To all the other four weekers:
My recovery has been wonderful...I have been working out (modified workouts) since cleared at my two week appt. Just walk slower on the treadmill and modify my yoga so I don't stress abdominals.
No problems at all. No pain at all. My energy level is good and I haven't napped since the first week. This past week I went to the zoo (again) and walked for three hours. Have been walking several time daily since the hospital. My dog Scout has been spoiled, he goes for 3 or 4 twenty minute walks a day. He will be sad when I go back to work.
Have also been cleared to return to work at five weeks. I have a desk job and yes, I miss it.
My GYN thinks that I am doing so well because I was physically fit before surgery...
Wishing everyone a great and uneventful recovery.

hospitalized again
4 weeks now, was re-admitted to hospital on Wednesday due to pain, had lots of pain. Feeling better with strict bedrest now. Was released today.
I went back to work without a release last week and ended up hurting. Won't do that again. But like others wrote, I was really bored and NEEDED to go back in order to fix things. Oh well, I learned a lesson the hard way, even though I KNEW from reading here I shouldn't do this.
Hope to get healthy quickly. 6 weeks is around the corner

Feeling great 3-4 weeks
Wow, Catlover....thanks for giving me the encouragement to get my body moving again. I was also fit prior to the TVH and Bladder repair. When I went to the Dr. for my 3 week he told me the stitches inside still hadn't dissolved so I should give it another week. Dying to get back to the gym and now that I hear you're doing it I'm ready, willing and able....but will take it slow.
Keep up the great work! Maxine

sorry catlover
I'm so sorry catlover, I didn't intent my reply to be directed to you. I was letting Scout know that I too felt well enough to exercise. I am so sorry you ended up back in the hospital. My heart goes out to you and prayers are with you. Sorry. Maxine

How's everyone at 4 weeks?
Hi!
I'm much better than I thought I'd be at this stage ... I actually pottered (gently!) around in the garden today! I was so bad 3 weeks ago that I'm amazed at the progress.
Hope I'm not heading for a fall ...
Big to all the 4 weekers ... we made it!
