dVH/RALH insides hurting after bowel movement

I am five days post op and yesterday I had really bad stomach pains & had to use the bathroom for quite a bit. After I was done my insides were hurting a lot & the pain lasted for hours.
Has any one else gone through this?

We had the same date of surgery. I thought I had same issue with BM but this morning it went so smooth. Are you taking stool softener daily? I think you should. I had been taking it since I left the hospital. I hope this is help.

Hi Cantik, yes I've been taking colace twice a day. Which is why I wasn't sure why I felt that way afterwards.

Hi I had dvh on October 3 and I had similar issue. I conveyed that to my doctor and she recommended three things add one more colace which made three daily. Eat more fruit like melons and grapes. Drink plenty of water and add some cranberry juice to your water. Oh ya she said slow walks but don't over do it. Hint watermelon keeps you hydrated and its so tasty. Hugs

Hi Ms Ivy. Thank you for the tips. I'll keep taking the colace and up on my fruits/walks. Its been hard to walk these days because of the pain. I appreciate the help ladies & hope for a great recovery for all of us.

I have been taking 1 capsule of TRUBIOTICS made by one a day, and this has done the job for me, no pain at all with my BM since having the surgery 5 weeks ago. I would recommend these to anyone having troubles with their BM. They also help eliminating bad bacteria from your body. At my 4 wk follow up appt, I told my doctor I was taking them and he said that they were fine for me to take.

Having the same problem. I talked to my Dr she suggested milk of mag but that just added more gas. So I am still struggling.

Eat apples that is what helped me along with lots of water!!!! =)

I had my surgery on October 1st. I did not have a BM for 8 days after. I was miserable! I finally gave in after not being able to reach my doctor and took a mild laxative. I had been taking 2 stool softners and miralax everyday but nothing helped. The laxative didn't help either so I took one more the next night. That did it! I felt so much better. It was painful to be so full... I've been eating so much fruit and veggies. . Trying to stay regular. Not being able to exercise makes it more difficult I think.
