Concerns w/other non-female part symptoms

I hope I am putting this in right place. I started off new here a while back and then took a hiatus. Am finding that my doctor doesn't answer some things....

I am 4&1/2 mos post op. I know it takes time for things to go back to normal; but my tummy is still pretty sore, it's very painful to go to the bathroom (mostly #2; sorry trying not to be graphic), and I have had and still have sexual desire but I am very nervous.. I think the last part will have to be a separate post in another forum...

I do have diagnosis' for my bladder and digestive system, Interstitial Cystitis and IBS; but this feels like it's not part of that, it pretty much feels like it did when I was 1 mo post op. I have seen my doctor's and taking my meds; and they say all is well, so I have to ask if the digestive, endocrine symptoms going on this long is normal? & just ask for other people's stories on this subject to get a general idea for people who have had this issue; how long it took to get as normal as it gets with the other medical conditions.

I have had lots of sexual desire; but I am finding now that I am extremely nervous about just having a vagina. I worry about things falling out during sex or being pulled out, if it will hurt, I read some stuff in the information section, but it didn't really set my mind at ease. My guy is not "well-endowed" but was absolutely perfect for my body (I am hoping he still is); hard to find someone so perfect emotionally, mentally, & physically but I did :-) Anywho, my concerns actually make him more nervous too. He has always been a lot more innocent than I and is perfectly understanding but a bit, I don't know, just younger maybe? He's great at listening and talking but I can tell he's nervous too...

I know there's people with more pressing questions; I am just hoping to get some peace of mind. I live in an area where medical prowess is far and few between and most doctor's here feel they have a degree so they know my body better than me. So, I have to look elsewhere. I also didn't think I would need support, but apparently I do and should use it. :-) Thank you so very much!!!

Re: Concerns w/other non-female part symptoms

Hi Cherry Pits, Welcome back!!

I have to say that what you are describing does not sound normal to me. at 4 1/2 months, your bowels and such should be back to normal. I also think that if you are having any abdominal pain this far out you should have that addressed as well. I know it can take up to a year to be 100% healed from this, but it doesn't sound normal for you to still feel like you did at one month.

I would try to maybe find a different doctor if you are not getting the care you need from your current one. You know your body better than anyone and if something feels wrong, you should get it taken care of.

Please take care of yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Re: Concerns w/other non-female part symptoms

Yea, I was worried that was the issue; but "doctor hopping" in this area to all doctor's means you're looking for drugs; especially if you're already on pain meds for other issues (injuries to knee shoulder & spine). So, they will just tell me to wait, it will get better. It is also really difficult to go to upteen million doctor's. Just very stressful, & my new medical doctor refused to even give me epipens telling me to just stay away from seafood, like I don't know that! This area of the country is really not patient orientated.

Thank you for your input though; I'm not putting it down at all just so much going on in my life, I know my health is important, just things are so stressful and hard any more and these doctor's round here do not help matters.

Re: Concerns w/other non-female part symptoms

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can completely understand how that would be stressful! It is always unfortunately when someone is unable to find the health care that they need. I wish there were more I could do for you.

One thing I can do is hand out lots and lots of And that things get better for you soon!

Re: Concerns w/other non-female part symptoms

Thank you very much!!! It is certainly appreciated. Right now I have a lot going on with family and friend-like-family; so I have to take care of those things too; once all that is squared away it will put me in a better position to really work hard at getting my health better and really pushing these doctor's to do what's right. Thank you gain!!
