constipated due to large fibroid

Hi ladies, I am now 10 days till surgery TAH/BSO rectocele too. I have about 9" mass that has to come out they are calling it fibroid and large uterus. Did colonoscopy DEC4th removed 1 polyp (negative). Heres something new that happen to me yesterday with this gritter. I have been feeling very constipated and they have me off all meds, Herbs, only tylenol from here on out. I felt the urge to have a BM and so I am very careful about pushing too hard ( sorry for being so discriptive) Anyways I bare down and pushed next thing I know I have this bright red blood streaming out. Major cramps. I though it might be hemroids? NO checked it out. It was from my vagina. I think I might have done something bad, or there is something really wrong going on inside of me. The bleeding has stop and is back to my spotting like I do. If you ladies have any ideas it would be nice to here. Is anyone out there taking laxative up to there surgery date?? I'm calling DR. to see if I can get some help here.

How about stool softeners? They are definitely our friend post-op, but it sounds like you could benefit from them pre-op. As anyone will say, check with your doctor to be sure. There are some things you shouldn't take before surgery so better safe than sorry. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering like this.
