TAH scheduled

I got my TAH scheduled. I am mostly ok with it, as the amount of discomfort from my fibroids is steadily increasing. However, I had a difficult time this weekend because a group of my orchestra students decided to ask me if I was pregnant. Now I know that's the streotypical faux pas that gets made, and it wasn't meant to be mean, but I had a missed miscarriage this fall after a FET (I do have 2 children through IVF and FET) and had just gone to the gyn to discuss a TAH. It really was upsetting at the moment, especially because the student who asked was one of their band friends who has never talked to me before. I'm afraid I let them have it; I still think it was highly inappropriate. Alas, I tried to discuss it with my colleague (the band teacher), but frankly, she is not concerned with the emotional well-being of others. Enough said. So my TAH is on June 30 at 1 p.m.

TAH scheduled

I tried to keep everything quiet at first, especially at work. My choristers only know that I had surgery and they haven't asked what for. I kept dreading the question, but it never came up. The week before surgery we were visiting family and we were asked the inevitable question "When are you going to have a boy?". By then I was comfortable enough with the whole subject that I was able to guarantee them we would not be supplying the male heir. Granddaughters will have to suffice.

I had a long wait like you before surgery and in a way it made it easier. I had plenty of time to come to terms with the facts and feel completely comfortable with the decision. Just keep focusing on how well you will feel once it is over.

((( mandocat )))

I'm sorry that you're having to deal with unsupportive colleagues as well as unthinking students. Come here as often as you need to - we DO understand how you feel s

A hyst is a major and very emotional thing to have to face. IMO, the time right after the decision is made is the worse time as far as emotions go. Just remember your reasons for making the decision, look forward to ending your problems and having a future without them.

Also, it would help if you would add your date to your profile and add you to the best wishes for that day

Some days you're up, some days you're down. I recommend screaming into a pillow now and then. Really does help to let out a nice primevil scream now and then.

I detest pregnancy questions, especially from those you don't really know!
