If you had perineum surgery please respond!!

Hi all, I am 4 weeks out from TVH and A & P repairs and vaginal suspention. I have my operative report here though and other than the removal of my uterus and suspension of the cuff I do not see he did "repairs". So......it explains why my rectocle is not changed. My cystocele is gone by virtue of removal of uterus and suspension of vagina- but not rectocele and apparantly now perineocele. I am now having surgery 4/1 to do the perineum and lower vaginal surgery- basically a episiotomy and tightening of lower vagina. My original epsiotomy had issues from the get go....I prolapsed very quickly due to a connective tissue disorder. long story short- nervous about the perineum surgery especially since it makes the vajayjay smaller and can cause pain with sex. Then again I already had pain with sex from uterovaginal prolapse, so at least if that happens I wont have the rectocele anymore

Re: If you had perineum surgery please respond!!

I had an "episiotomy" with my TVH and A&P the day after you. The dr said it took him an extra 30 minutes to do that part because he had to remove excess tissue and streeetch me back together. That was the most painful thing the first 3 weeks! Ow!

Re: If you had perineum surgery please respond!!

thanks! that is exactly what i am expecting! my recovery from the hysterectomy was rather easy...but i expexted the perineal area to have stitches and he was to do rectocele repair but only did things from up top ....i was confused.....so here i go again on 4/1. he said quick surgery, and all will be tightened......thanks for the response! i remember my episiotomy with son and it was not pleasant!! i will load up on eaxtra colace and prune juice the day before!!
