Tired of painful sex!

I am sooo looking forward to the day when dh and I can have sex and it not be painful. Since I had my second child, it has been quite painful off and on for me. She's 7 yrs old now and it's still pretty painful most of the time. We have been limited to only a couple of positions for years because every other way hurts me too bad. Nearly a year ago, dh began to complain that something inside me was hurting HIM. He said it feels sharp and it's so painful that we have to stop altogether sometimes. Now, we're limited exclusively to "the pregnant way"... the position we used when I was very pregnant because it's the only way we can have sex without it hurting him and me both. Sheesh. I've grown so accustomed to it being painful that I don't even think about it much anymore. I was reading some of the other posts about the issue and I'm so thankful that when all is said and done.... and all my problems are GONE..... that our time together will feel good to both of us. By the way, I asked my ob/gyn about WHAT dh could be hitting and he said he thought it was my cervix (which will be leaving July 9th, along with my uterus, and my ovaries if they aren't in SPECTACULAR condition. lol)

I hope I didn't offend anyone with this post. That was certainly not my intention at all. I'm just "venting" and I'm sure most of you can sympathize.

Tired of painful sex!

Hi, Bekki! Lots of hystersisters have posted about their frustration with sex being uncomfortable or painful before their hyst. That is one of the hopes for afterwards--that everything will work much better and feel good again! We'll be hoping that you find much improvement when you can try this again (when your dr clears you about 6-8 weeks post op) I know I don't miss my cervix at all, and everything works fine! s and best wishes!

Bekki

Hi there,
I have been married 15 years and during the last two years, what used to be a very active sex life became something I would "put off" doing. I realized I was beginning to make excuses and such to avoid sexual contact. I finally told hubby <he thought it was a problem I was having with him> that sex was great at the time but I would feel uncomfortable and crampy for days after. I am now 16 days post op and we are both looking forward to an active sex life again. I know my desire is still there following the surgery so that makes me feel better! LOL Good luck to you and hubby following your release from your DR!

Tired of painful sex!

Oh, Bekki!

You most certainly did not offend. Lots of us have posted about painful intercourse and the toll it takes on our relationships and general sense of well being.

I am only 4 days post-op so I have to wait awhile for The Great Event but, I am sure looking forward to that day (and night, and next morning)!

Have hope - relief is on its way.

Tired of painful sex!

I toooooo am looking forward to the day it doesn't hurt.

I never new it wasn't supposed to hurt. At school when they taught sex ed I thought they were all lying to me or just had no idea what they were talking about when they said periods and sex should not hurt.

I've had severe pain for 16yrs, starting at age 11yrs when I first got my period. It has been wonderful to find this site because I always felt very alone on this subject. My best friend thought I was totally out to lunch when at age 22 I told her sex hurt all the time and she was the one to inform me it wasn't supposed to. Talk about a shock.

Well here's to better days to come.

Tired of painful sex!

Same here. Sex used to be great, but for the last year or so it's been painful and I get all cramped up for days afterwards. This is one of many reasons I decided to go ahead with the hysterectomy. I figure it can only get better after surgery. There's no way it could possibly get worse! I was worried about possibly having weaker orgasms without a uterus, but I've read from so many women here who say sex is just as good, and sometimes better than before their hysterectomy. That's good news! So hang in there. It's bound to be better after you're all healed from surgery.

I had painful sex too

I too had painful intercourse and felt all crampy afterwards. But of course Bekki knows that cause she's my sister in case anyone didnt know and she is also my sister in law. We married brothers. I am about two and a half months post op now and no more painful intercourse!!! My fat belly is gone, because my uterus was HUGE! And I have lost quite a few lbs since my surgery. I went in weighing 134 and now weigh 118. I drink lots of water, try to eat healthy and all that good stuff. I feel soooo much better. I'm still sore. My incision isnt so sore but a spot just below and left of my belly button. That spot seems very tender and burns. I had a hard time with my bladder kicking back into it but it seems to be doing pretty good the past couple weeks. But all in all I wish I'd had it done years ago. I feel GREAT! Good luck to everyone else and I wish you a quick recovery. The most important thing to do is rest, rest, rest. Blessings, Mikki
