Got copy of pathology report and...

I got copies of all of my hospital records from preop testing through surgery and the pathology report. My doctor told me it was good that I had the surgery because it showed adenomyosis. Well my report also says "multiple small leiomyomas" (in other words fibroids), microglandular hyperplasia of endocervix (from what I could find on the internet this is no big deal, but the pathologist has to be careful of the diagnosis between this an adenocarcinoma - yikes!), and one ovary with hemorrahgic corpus lutea. Yep, I definitely think this surgery was needed and well worth it!

It amazes me how little the uterus and cervix actually weighs. Now I know why I didn't lose any weight immediately post surgery .

Re: Got copy of pathology report and...

Hehe, I was given the operative report, which was a play by play of the surgery itself. I read it and was just amazed at my doctor. She had some seriously yucky complications to deal with. That I am feeling as good as I am, and as good as I was after surgery, that's some skill in those hands. I am soooo thankful for having her as my surgeon.

My uterus weighed in at 229g and my ovaries at 18g and 19g.

I wonder how long they keep things on file. I would love to see a record of my gal bladder surgery fro 2003. LOL

Re: Got copy of pathology report and...

I was also very disappointed with the weight of my uterus. Even though I had "over 30" (I guess they stopped counting?) fibroids and it was enlarged at 15x10x7 cm., it only weighed 370 grams. If you have a strong stomach, click on my profile and there are pictures of my uterus in my photo gallery.

Re: Got copy of pathology report and...

I had surgery because I showed signs of adenomyosis, I hope you will be pain free after recovery.

God Bless
