6 days post hysterectomy: Shortness of breath

Hi everyone..I have a question. Well a few. I had the Divinci on 5/4 and went to the store with my mom. She did everything( pushed cart, picked up stuff) I just walked, told her what to put in the cart n paid. I was up walking for a little over an hour, got light headed n had to sit down. Shortness of breath n lethargy as well. Is this normal? I've been taking short walks a few times a day so this was my big outting. Just taking Advil so no mJor pain meds. I'm popped also, do I need compression stockings? I got a shot of blood thinner before I left but only one shot. Nervous about blood clots. Anybody else? I'm keeping my feet elevated n walking around every few hours. Is this enough?

Re: Shortness of breath

I'd call my doctor to be safe. If you have been walking around before today, it seems odd that a little longer walk would make you short of breath. Its always better to check just for peace of mind

Re: Shortness of breath

I think it depends on how far you were walking. An hour is a long time to be on your feet if you haven't been. Even the minimally invasive is major surgery. Suspect your body was just trying to ensure you didn't do way to much. I went to doctor 6 days out, felt great, so then went to the ice-cream store and Target for a bit of food. My son did all the carrying, pushing etc. I spent the next day in bed with only those tiny walks in between. I hope you feel better!

Re: Shortness of breath

Thanks for the replies!! Today was my first outing after only small walks around the house. I also had not eaten in a few hours so I felt better after I ate. Thanks again for responding.

Re: Shortness of breath

I was told to call the doctor's office if I experience shortness of breath. Shortness of breath can be a symptom of a pulmonary embolism. It's always better to run it by your doctor just to be sure it isn't anything serious.

Vaginal cuff

Hi guys.... I spent the day in the hospital on my back for 7 hours to rule out a blood clot. Great news, no clot.
