Getting Ready To Douche...Totally Scared!

I called to check up on my bleeding today that i was having...Which has gotten better..I wanted to be reassured to do the douching that my Dr. requested.. The nurse said it will be fine and the bright red bleeding could have been caused from overdoing also from the stitches disolving she said that it could cause different colors in bleeding including the red..
Even tho my Dr. said that i need to do this, i am SCARED. I am so scared to put anything UP THERE. LOL.. Please reassure me my Dr. said this is ok, so he no's something i dont?I just see instructions all over the place NO DOUCHING..But im only to use 1/2 the bottle and then the other 1/2 on thursday...I dont mean to put this instruction into anyones mind....If your Dr. hasnt told you to do this, i would NOT recommend it!!!

I can understand you being nervous. I think I would be too, but I really do feel if your dr told you to do it he has a reason and wouldn't tell you to do something that would harm you.
Go slowly and gently like with everything. It sounds like it really is going to be a very small amount of liquid. You can do it.
Let us know when its over.

Getting Ready To Douche...Totally Scared!

HI! I can understand a medicated douche and you being very apprehensive about it....It would scare me too! The key is: relax and not tighten down, gently squeeze...don't do it fast or the pressure of the liquid could hurt, and don't put it to far in so you are safe not to touch your cuff! Take care and ((HUGS))!

Getting Ready To Douche...Totally Scared!

I didn't have to douche to get the sutures out, but I did have to douche starting about at 8 weeks. I had a abcess and the incision didn't heal properly, so I had and open wound about the size of a quarter. OUCH!

I would also suggest letting the liquid out very slowly. Relax. It is very soothing. Good luck!
