Spotting - 8 months post-op

I just wondered if anyone else is spotting this long after surgery. I still have my ovaries and part of my cervix.
I have an appointment to see my doctor on 2/2/06.
I've had three silver nitrate treatments. I do not have any pain. How long do mini periods last? Will I have to deal with mini periods forever?
I'm feeling great except for this one issue.
I wish all members the best and thanks for all the great
information.

Spotting - 8 months post-op

My mini-periods only last two days and are very light. I have seen posts from hystersisters though that have had mini-periods for as long as 7 days. Mine always follows my PMS cycle of sore breasts, cravings, etc but does not have any cramps associated with it.

I did a lot of research and also consulted with my regular gyno re: silver nitrate treatments for mini-periods. There is a current school of thought that silver nitrate cannot stop the breaking away of endometrial tissue (which occurs deep below the surface). Silver nitrate is an excellent treatment for surface issues such as granulation. Many doctors would disagree that silver nitrate cannot stop mini-periods (my surgeon among them), however research seems to indicate a possibility of the opposite. I did locate quite a few hystersisters who underwent silver nitrate treatments who continued to have mini-periods. After researching, I decided to live with my mini-periods since they are so minor and realize they will go away eventually whenever menopause hits.

Good luck.
