Best Advice?

My surgery is less than 3 weeks away. Dec.3rd to be exact. It is speeding quickly towards me.Honestly I can not wait. So sisters…what was some of the best advice you received? Any tips you wished you had known before you had surgery? Please share. I am OCD as can be and love being as prepared as much as I can be.

Re: Best Advice?

Hi macslady-

Fill your freezer with frozen meals - something that you can pop in the microwave.

Super clean your house - you won't be doing that for a while.

Buy (or have ready) a small pillow that you can hold against your tummy for coughs, sneezes, and pet visits (if applicable). You may also need a larger pillow to put over your tummy when you sleep if you have pets that like to visit you.

Have comfy, loose fitting clothes. I lived for 12 weeks in sweats and old shorts.

Make sure you have help around the house for cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, shopping, driving, etc.

Have a recovery corner established where you can snuggle under blankets. Have it near the TV and have DVDs and light reading. Your brain will go a bit stir crazy, so you will need to keep it entertained.
