Granulated tissue + silver nitrate =

funky looking discharge! Not red or pink... more like a burnt reddish orange color. The treatment all in all wasn't bad but I could have used a little more warning before he removed the granulated tissue. He did a pretty good amount of the silver nitrate judging by how many little sticks he grabbed.....figuring he said neither area was large or bad - hopefully he was just being really thorough. I had some cramping start as I was driving home....I figure that is just due to the irritation factor. Hopefully I won't need a future treatment! But.... for you gals that have had this done....is the funky colored discharge normal?

Re: Granulated tissue + silver nitrate =

YES! I have had it twice and it goes from that burnt orange color to a gray color then back to the burnt color with sometimes coffee ground looking stuff in it...This happened to me both times! I have one more treatment as I am STILL having some brownish discharge a few days a week..I don't go back till 11-1 so I have to deal with it until then...I could go earlier but my GYNO is out of town until then and I don't want to see his partner...Oh and I cramped some to after both treatments..I just sat down with the heating pad on for the remainder of the day and rested and it eventually went away! GOOD LUCK!

Re: Granulated tissue + silver nitrate =

Glad to hear that it gets better... I drove home singing the "I really want my ibuprofen" song. Sure ... its a song I made up, but I was singing it all the same

I only ever had the bleeding after sex... hopefully the discharge thing will be short lived. I don't like having to wear a pad again. Guess I should be thankful that I kept a few in my purse. I always seem to be in the ladies room when someone speaks up to say ...."Um HELP!!"
