LOL @ 'perforated'
I LOVE IT!!!! LOLOLOL!!
DH and I got married November 13 this year. My Hysterectomy was 16 days later.
My dear, sweet and amazing DH has been my Knight in Shining Armor. He is constantly on me to follow the doctors orders without exception. As a note - He went to my appointments with me and knew the rules of recovery. He pampered me like the princess I am. We were very careful.
When I had a bad and unexpected hysterectomy related hemorrhage at day 21, my DH sat in the triage room in ER with me even though they offered (hinted?) that he could leave because I, the table and the floor were covered in blood while the ER doc tried to find the source of the bleeding. DH refused to go. I think he would have gone into the surgery room if they would have let him.
When the doctor released me the next day, and again at the check up a week later, DH was again with me. My doctor was ADAMANT that due to blood loss, the artery repair and my hysterectomy that I go back to week one rules of recovery until January 20th. No pushing, lifting, vacuuming, driving, etc. DH has been more diligent about this than I have. I couldn't imagine this journey without him.
I feel bad he married a broken wife...I have had several post surgery crying jags over that.....but he swears that is not how he sees it. He has known me for years as a strong independent and healthy woman. He thinks this is going to make me Super Woman once I am fully healed and we can then *
ahem* truly commemorate our honeymoon.
Cheers to
all the wonderful DH's out there.
